The love for shawarma is undeniable among Malayalis. However, people seem to be hesitant to eat it at roadside stalls due to food poisoning fears. Don't worry! Here is how to prepare flowerpot-style chicken shawarma at home.

Ingredients
1 tbsp oil
1 small onion (chopped)
¾ cup cabbage (chopped)
¼ cup carrot (chopped)
¼ cup bell pepper (chopped)
Salt as required
Pepper powder as required
1 cup fried chicken pieces
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
Water as required
Vegetable oil to fry
Mayonnaise
Tomato ketchup
Chopped coriander leaves

Preparation
Heat oil in a pan
Add onion, cabbage, carrot, bell pepper, salt and pepper
Sauté for 3 minutes
Turn off the flame before adding the fried chicken pieces (fry the chicken after marinating with salt, pepper, turmeric powder, and chilli powder)
Take the all-purpose dough, salt and water into a bowl
Mix into a soft dough
Make small balls from it
Roll this into sheets
Cut disks from the sheet using a mould or cutter
Grease a steel tumbler and press the disks onto it
Heat oil in a pan
Insert the steel glass with the dough into hot oil
After the dough has set, take out the tumbler
