Quail meat is loaded with protein and is delicious too. Here is how to prepare quail roast that could be enjoyed with rice, appam or porotta.

Ingredients
1 quail
1 onion
10 gm chopped ginger
10 gm chopped garlic
2 green chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tomato
Salt as required
Coconut oil to fry
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp pepper powder
½ tsp garam masala
½ tsp fennel powder
1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
½ tsp coriander powder
2 boiled quail eggs
5 shallots
½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp all purpose flour

Preparation
Marinate the quail with all purpose flour, Kashmiri chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and ginger – garlic paste
Fry the marinated quail in hot coconut oil
Meanwhile, heat coconut oil in a pan
Sauté garlic, ginger and onion with some salt
When they turn brown in colour, turn off the flame
Now add all the powders and tomatoes to it
Turn on the flame and sauté until the tomatoes are mushy
Add some water and cook on low flame
Now add the boiled quail eggs, fried quail, curry leaves and green chilies
Cook for some more time on low flame
Tasty quail roast is ready.
