Curd curry is an interesting dish that adds the perfect zing to your lunch menu. Its tastes fabulous with rice and curries and also with breakfast dishes like dosa and appam. Check out the simple recipe of curd curry.
Ingredients
2 cups curd
1 small piece of ginger
4 cloves garlic
5 shallots
1 onion
2 tomatoes
5 green chillies
1 tsp chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Coconut oil as required
Mustard seeds as required
Dried chillies as required
Curry leaves
Salt as required
Water as required
Preparation
Beat the curd by adding some water and salt so that there are no lumps
Heat coconut oil in a pan/vessel and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves
Sauté ginger, garlic, shallots, onion, 1 tomato and green chillies separately
Mix chilli powder and turmeric powder in some water
Add this into the sautéed ingredients
Add a few pieces of fresh tomato as well
Add salt as required
Mix well and keep it aside
Add the curd after the spices and the aromatics have cooled down completely
Finally heat some coconut oil in a pan
Splutter mustard seeds and dried chillies
Add this tempering into the curd curry
Mix well and keep it closed for some time before serving.
