This crunchy moong dal namkeen is an easy North Indian dish that could be enjoyed with a cup of hot tea. Here's how you could make moong dal snack at home.

Ingredients
1 cup moong dal
¼ tsp baking soda
½ tsp turmeric powder
Oil to fry
Salt as required
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp chaat masala
½ tsp aamchur (dried mango) powder
Fried coriander leaves

Preparation
Wash the moong dal well
Soak the moong dal for at least 4 hours along with baking soda and turmeric powder
After 4 hours, transfer the moong dal into a sieve and wash it well
Spread it on a piece of clean cotton cloth for half an hour to drain it
Heat oil in a deep vessel or cheena chatty
Transfer the moong dal into a small sieve
Fry the moong dal in small batches by immersing the sieve in hot oil
Dip and raise the sieve until the moong dal is nice and crispy
Transfer the fried moong dal into a plate lined with tissue to drain the excess oil
Into the fried moongdal add salt, chilli powder, chaat masala, aamchoor powder and fried coriander leaves
Mix well.
