You maay be familiar with the typical Kerala beef roast that is a perfect blend of south Indian spices but this roast beef preparation offers a fresh surprise to your palate. Do not let the name of the dish fool you. In fact, it has nothing to do with your regular beef roast. This recipe used bigger slices of beef and involves a long marination process, too. But the delicious results with keep you craving more.

Ingredients
1 kilo beef, cut into 2 big pieces
1 ½ inch ginger
20 garlic cloves 
1 small bunch mint leaves 
1 ½ tsp pepper 
3 cardamoms
5 cloves 
3 cinnamons (2 inches each)
Lime juice (of 2 lemons)
2 tsp salt
4 tbsp oil
3 whole dried red chilli 
2 onion sliced
3 cups of water

Preparation
Grind ginger, garlic, mint leaves, pepper, cardamoms, cloves, and cinnamon along with lime juice and salt into a fine paste
Wash and clean the beef and using a fork make holes on its surface and apply the ground paste over it and keep aside over night
In a hard bottom pan, heat oil and fry the dried chilli and keep aside
In the same pan, sauté the sliced onions till brown
Put the marinated beef pieces into the pan and fry till brown
Along with the gravy, put the beef pieces into the pressure cooker, add sufficient water and cook for about 20-30 minutes
After cooling down, cut the pieces into small slices
Serve along with the gravy
Garnish with slices of boiled egg.
