Make way for this chutney/chammanthi with oodles of coconut and flavourful gooseberry. This brings a good balance of flavours on that banana leaf that promises a great feast

Ingredients
1 cup grated coconut
2€“-3 nellikka or gooseberries, de-seeded and chopped
2-€“3 shallots
½ inch piece ginger
2€“-3 curry leaves
Salt to taste

Preparation
Coarsely grind together all ingredients except curry leaves in the small jar of the mixie without adding water
Add curry leaves and grind for a few more seconds till all the ingredients are mixed together
Shape it into a ball and serve with rice or rice gruel (kanji) 
One can even sandwich this between bread slices as a quick evening snack
