Stuffed and fried quail with tomato puree

There’s no denying the wondrous medicinal properties of quail meat. Though nowhere near to chicken in size, its meat, however, is rich in protein, minerals and vitamins. Quail meat has a stronger flavour than chicken and has lesser fat content. Here’s how to prepare stuffed quail, rich in taste and medicinal content too.

Ingredients
For marination
Meat of 4 quails
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 lime
For masala
Oil as required
2 onions chopped
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
2 green chillies
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp garam masala
½ tsp pepper powder
1 tomato chopped
10 boiled quail eggs

1 cup tomato puree

Preparation
For marination
To marinate the quail meat, rub in salt, chilli powder pepper powder, ginger-garlic paste and juice of half a lime
Set aside for an hour
For masala
Fry two finely chopped onions in a pan
Add salt, ginger-garlic paste and two finely chopped green chillies
When the colour of the onions changes to light brown, add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and pepper powder
Saute well
Add the chopped tomato and mix well
Now add the boiled eggs, coat them with the masala mix and switch off the flame

Stuff the marinated quails with this mix
Fry the quails in a pan
When both the sides turn crisp add the tomato puree
Keep on turning the quails till both the sides are well cooked and crisp
Add a little gravy
The stuffed quails are ready to be relished
