Ingredients
500gm prawns
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp pepper powder
4 garlic pods
2+3 green chillies
1 cup scraped coconut
½ cup shallots, sliced
2 tbsp ginger, sliced
1½ cups coconut milk
1 cup tamarind water (a ball of tamarind squeezed)
2 dsp oil
Salt, as required

Preparation
In a mixer, add coriander powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garlic pods, 2 green chillies, cumin seeds and scraped coconut
Grind the ingredients to a paste with very little water
In a pan, pour oil
Add the shallots, ginger and 3 green chillies and saute well
Add the ground paste to the pan and saute well till the raw scent of the spices goes away
Add a little water by washing out the mixer
Add enough salt
Put the prawns into the pan and blend well
Pour in the tamarind water and keep for cooking under the lid
Once done, add the thick coconut milk and take off the stove before it boils
