Yes, we know the charm of puttu! And there are so many variants to it; the red rice puttu here is just as tasty and soft, and more nutritious.
Ingredients
1 cup chemba puttu powder/red rice powdered
Salt, as required
Water, as required
1 cup scraped coconut
Preparation
Add enough salt to the chemba rice powder
Pouring water a little at a time, make a smooth grainy mix of it
Sieve the mix to get rid of the lumps
Now, take the round puttu maker
Add a layer of coconut first
Then make a layer of rice powder
Steam it until the steam escapes the vessel
Invert the puttu vessel on a plate
Repeat the same to make more delicious puttu
