It is important to include fish that are rich in protein and omega 3 fatty acid, in your daily diet. The tomato paste added in this fish curry gives it the perfect tang that binds together all the flavours. Here is how to easily prepare a special fish curry with tomato paste.

Ingredients
1 tomato
½ kg fish
Onions
Ginger
Green chillies
Garlic
1 ½ tsp fish masala
2 tsp chilli powder
Lemon sized ball of tamarind
½ cup grated coconut
Mustard seeds
Fenugreek seeds
Salt as required
Coconut oil as required

Preparation
Blanch a ripe tomato and peel the skin
Dice the tomato finely and ground it along with grated coconut to prepare a smooth paste
Heat coconut oil in an earthen vessel or chatty and sauté onions, green chillies, ginger and garlic
Add salt as required
Now add the fish masala and chilli powder and sauté well
Add the tamarind water and pour 1 ½ cups water
Taste for seasoning
Allow the gravy to boil well with the lid on
Add some curry leaves as well
Now add in the cleaned fish fillets and cook for 5 minutes
Finally add the tomato-coconut paste and cook for a while
Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter the mustard and fenugreek seeds
Add curry leaves and a tea spoon of chilli powder
Roast for a while and pour this tempering over the fish curry.
