1 ½ tsp cinnamon powder
½ tsp nutmeg powder
For the caramel sauce
1 ½ cup sugar
¼ cup water
2 tbsp. butter
½ cup thick cream
½ tsp vanilla essence
For the whipped cream
1 cup thick cream
2 tbsp sugar powdered
Walnuts to garnish
Preparation
In a pan melt the butter on a low fire
Into this, add both the green and red apples chopped, sugar and brown sugar Simmer on a low fire for about 25 minutes till the apples turn golden and mushy. Keep stirring from time to time
To this, add cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, and simmer again for 5 minutes
When it thickens, remove from fire and keep aside
To make the caramel sauce, take some water and sugar in a saucepan and keep this on a low fire, stirring till the sugar melts and the water turns syrupy
Once all the sugar melts, stop stirring and keep the pan on the fire itself
This will turn light brown in 5 minutes and the caramel sauce is ready
Remove from stove, add some butter to this and give it a slight stir
Beat the cream with vanilla and add to the caramel mix along with the syrup left from browning the apples
Combine this till it turns smooth and keep it aside to cool for 10-15 minutes Slowly add the sugar to the cream bit by bit and whip it well till it gets fluffy
In small serving bowls, first add a layer of the apples, pour 1-2 tsp of caramel sauce and over this pipe the whipped cream topping
Over this, garnish with the walnuts or a drizzle of the caramel sauce again
