If you are looking forward to saving time and fuel, here is an option to switch to a rocket stove for cooking.

A rocket stove is an efficient and hot burning stove using small diameter wood fuel.

A lot of heat is lost while cooking on a traditional stove made using three stones or bricks. A rocket stove doesn't require too many firewoods to keep it running. Besides, the heat persists on a rocket stove.

To make this, the surface on which the stove is set up should be leveled. Two bricks could be kept parallel while one and a half bricks could be arranged horizontally. Place an iron net or grille above it. Arrange the bricks above the iron net as well (three whole blocks and half of a brick) in the same pattern.

Rocket stove usually has seven layers of bricks. The firewood is placed above the iron grille. You could later remove the ash that falls down. Place a stove stand over the opening of the outermost layer, on which you could place the vessel. The firewood burned below and the vessel gets heated pretty quickly. Another advantage of the rocket stove is that it doesn't produce much smoke that can irritate your eyes.
