The metabolic rate of the human body reduces significantly by evening. So, nutritionists advice against eating food that are rich in carbohydrates and fat during this time. Nutritious food that are lighter on the stomach and easily digests should be included in the menu for dinner.

The following food items should be avoided after 6 pm in order to stay healthy and fit and keep away obesity and lifestyle diseases.

Frozen food

Frozen food that are meant to be stored for longer duration are often loaded with hydrogenated oils, sugar, salt and calories. Such food does not contain nutrients that are essential for the body. So, it is better to avoid such food in the evening.

Carbonated drinks contain sugar and calories in high amount making it unsuitable for the evenings.

It is difficult to say ‘no’ to ice creams. But the high sugar content in it makes ice cream an unhealthy item to enjoy in the evenings.
