BTech chaya or refreshing tea served by three BTech graduates in Pallimukku in Kollam has been the talk of the town, attracting tea lovers from all over to try their unique tea varieties. The friends say that they have started this wayside tea shop to survive the financial crisis during the Covid-19 period.

“I have always loved making and drinking tea. During the Covid period, we got only half of our actual salary. Besides, I wasn’t interested in moving abroad to work. We have been thinking about starting a tea shop since almost a year. I used to travel with my friends just to explore the different tea varieties. Moreover, I loved making tea when guests came home. Everyone appreciates my tea making skills,” says Ananthu, one of the proprietors.
