Online food delivery in Kerala has been dominated by a few international companies that have extensive networks throughout the country. However, 'Foodoyes,' a brand new application started by a group of Keralites is all set to give them competition.
The makers of the Foodoyes app aim to bring all the hotels in Kerala, into a single platform, when it comes to online food delivery in Kerala. The hotel owners too have extended their support to the new application that has a touch of the Malayali spirit. This idea was developed and presented by Anu Krishnan, the owner of Unique Dots Company based in Bathery, Wayanad, and his brother Manu Krishnan.
Unique Dots designs personalized applications for each hotel and the latter can supply food under their own brand names. There would be a specified monthly fee for updating the app and other services. The list of all the hotels would be available on the homepage. The customer can choose their preferred hotel from the homepage and then would be redirected to the hotel's customized application.
For instance, if you wish to order some delicious biryani online from one of the hotels in the locality, you would get a list of the hotels that sell biryani, on the homepage. You can choose the hotel from where you wish to order the food and then would be led to the hotel's application. The rest of the dealings would be between the customer and the hotel. The food is supplied cash on delivery.
The hotels can either supply food on their own or rely on Foodoyes' delivery services. Instead of installing the Foodoyes app, the customers can even download the application of a single hotel as well. In a meeting held between the app developers and the officials of the Kerala Hotel and Restaurant Association (KHRA), the hotel owners have expressed their willingness to cooperate with the project. Around 200 hotels have approached the company to create their customized applications. The application would be initially introduced in Ernakulam.
The application is for Android and IOS as well. Hotels in all districts of Kerala have agreed to be part of the Foodoyes.
The developers of the application aim to introduce the pre-booking facility, in the next stage, to avoid delays in the delivery of food.
