Coffee is undoubtedly one of the most popular beverages in the world. While for some, a cup of hot coffee is a must to start their day on a kicking note, others like to have a hearty conversation over coffee.

There are many varieties of coffee depending upon the ways in which it is brewed. However the main ingredients to make a cup of hot and refreshing coffee are just water and coffee powder. Here are some of the most popular coffee variants which are equally delicious and invigorating.

Cappuccino: The quantity of milk will be more in cappuccino. Coffee oil, which is extracted from coffee beans, is added in it. Cappuccino is usually served in a ceramic mug. Warm milk is added into a mix of black coffee and coffee oil in a cappuccino mug. Milk should be added in such a way that it froths nicely. Cappuccino is garnished with bitter cocoa powder.

Espresso: This is made from the pure coffee extract, which is made by adding coffee beans and water in an espresso machine. Espresso, which is a strong brew, is consumed in limited portions.

Americano: Americano is made by adding hot water into espresso coffee. Some may even add milk and sugar to it.

Black coffee: This is the most common way of drinking coffee. It can be made strong or light by measuring the quantity of coffee powder added in it. Sugar can be added as per one’s taste and preference.

Caffé latte: It is prepared by adding 3 parts milk in one part of black coffee. Caffé latte is usually served with cakes and cookies. Sugar can be added as per the taste. Adding chocolate spread would make it extra special.

Turkish coffee: Water is added to finely powdered coffee beans and boiled. Generous amount of sugar can be added when coffee is boiled and froth appears on top of it.

Flat white: It is served at most of the coffee shops. Flat white is prepared by mixing espresso coffee and thick milk in equal parts. Sugar is added as per taste.

Caffé mocha: Caffé mocha is prepared by adding two parts of warm milk, two parts espresso, one part of chocolate syrup/powder and sugar as per taste. It is served in layers in a ceramic mug by pouring espresso first, and then chocolate syrup/powder and finally adding warm milk. Topping it off with a dash of whipped cream would make the perfect cup of caffé mocha.

Irish coffee: A little bit of whiskey is added into black coffee to make Irish coffee. It can be consumed with or without sugar. Irish coffee could be garnished with whipped cream.

Iced coffee: Milk is added into black coffee and served in a glass with ice cubes in it. Iced coffee is garnished with milk froth and ice cream, and topped off with whipped cream.
