Hours after AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu announced their divorce, his bassist Mohini Dey too confirmed separation from her husband on Instagram.
Mohini and her husband, noted music composer Mark Hartsuch said in a joint statement that the separation was a mutual decision.

“With a heavy heart, Mark and I announce that we have separated. First, as a commitment to our friends and family, this is a mutual understanding between us. While we remain great friends, we both have decided that we want different things in life and separation through mutual agreement was the best way to proceed,” wrote Mohini.

Meanwhile, Mohini added that they will continue to collaborate professionally and hoped that their friends and fans would support them. She also requested her followers to respect their privacy and to honour the decision by being positive. Twenty-eight-year-old Mohini who hails from Kolkata has associated with AR Rahman in more than forty concerts around the globe.
