A combined troupe of Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra and Moscow Theological Academy will grace Kottayam with a musical night on Tuesday. The programme, to be held at the Mammen Mappilai Hall, will begin at 6.30 p.m. Father Nestor Volokov, who holds a doctorate in Russian music will conduct the show.
The Orthodox Theological Seminary-backed Shruti School of Music is organising the musical treat. A reception will be held for the Russian troupe at 6:15 p.m. and for Baselious Marthoma Mathews III, the present Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, along with honourable guests.

At 7.05 p.m., a musical tribute fusing Slovenik traditional music with Russian prayer music will be conducted. At 7:30, Baselious Marthoma Mathews III will deliver the pastoral message.Dr M P George Cor-Episcopa’s Russian tribute followed by a Russian Prayer music fest. Dr Joshua Mar Nichodimos as well as representatives of various congregations including Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa, Thomas Mar Timotheos Episcopa, Gheevarghese Mar Aprem and Cyril Mar Baselios will grace the function.

The Russian musical troupe will arrive at 10 p.m. today and visit the Theological Seminary at 7 a.m. They will interact with the students of the seminary at 10:30 a.m. The troupe is slated to visit Mount Tabor Dayara at Pathanapuram, and Parumala Seminary on November 20. The artistes will also perform at Parumala Seminar. Dr. Yakoob Mar Irenaios Metropolitan will deliver a speech. The visiting Russian troupe will depart after visiting Devalokam Catholicate premises.
