The first song from 'Neelavelicham', helmed by Aashiq Abu, based on renowned writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer's popular short story of the same name, is out. The song is the remake of 'Anuraga Madhuchashakam', originally sung by S Janaki for the classic film 'Bhargavi Nilayam'. Rima Kallingal, who plays the title role of Bhargavi in 'Neelavelicham', can be seen dancing with finesse to the song.
'Bhargavi Nilayam', the first horror Malayalam film scripted by Basheer, was also loosely inspired by his short story 'Neelavelicham'. The film had immortal songs composed by M S Baburaj and penned by P Bhaskaran. The recreated version of 'Anuraga Madhuchasakam' has been composed by Rex Vijayan and Bijibal and sung by K S Chithra. Several celebrated names from the film fraternity and beyond shared the song wishing good luck to the film. The song is also receiving huge appreciation across social media.
'Neelavelicham' is produced by OPM Cinemas, while the cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan. Editing is by V Sajan. Sameera Saneesh is handling the costume department while Ronex Xavier is the makeup man. Art Direction is by Jyotish Shankar and stunt by Supreme Sundar.
There is huge anticipation among the moviegoers as to how this classic story will be represented as per today's cinematic trends.
