Monsoon songs

The sound track of this 1996 movie was done by Vidyasagar. This movie marked Vidyasagar's entry into Mollywood. It was sung by Sujatha Mohan.

Dwadashiyil mani deepika (Madhuranombarakaattu)

Sung by K J Yesudas and Sujatha Mohan, this song beautifully captures the beauty of rain, and the music still evokes a sense of nostalgia. The film's lyrics were composed by Vidyasagar and were penned by Yusuf Ali Kecheri.

Mazhaye thoomazhaye (Pattam pole)

The song composed by M Jayachandran was sung by Haricharan. Starring Dulquer Salmaan and Malavika Menon this song was a popular hit.

Junile nila mazhayil (Nammal thammil)

Sung by K J Yesudas and Sujatha, this song was composed by M Jayachandran and penned by Gireesh Puthencheri.

Kannond chollanu (Ennu ninte moideen)

This song by Shreya Ghoshal and Vijay Yesudas features actors Prithviraj and Parvathy. Composed by M Jayachandran, it was penned by Rafeeq Ahammed.

Tip tip barsaa pani (Mohra)

The number from the 1994 movie 'Mohra' was sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. Featuring Akshay Kumar and Raveen Tandon, this sensuous dance number in rain was a huge hit.

Barso re megha megha (Guru)

A partial depiction on the life of business magnet Dhirubai Ambani, the founder of Reliance Industries, this 2007 Mani Ratnam movie also had a set of amazing songs. The highly acclaimed and popular soundtrack was composed by music maestro A R Rahman. This particular song was crooned by Shreya Ghoshal and Uday Mazumdar.

Taal se taal mila (Taal)

Yet another A R Rahman magic, the lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi. Aishwarya Rai, one of the most beautiful ladies in the Indian filmdom, graces the screen as she sways to a Rahman musical.

Adada mazhaida (Paiyaa)

A Yuvan Shankar Raja musical 2010 movie Paiyya has some fine soundtrack, with almost all the songs being hugely popular. This particular song, accompanying a beautiful dance, is picturised on Karthi and Tamannah.

Meghom karukuthu (Kushi)

This song from Tamil movie Kushi released in 2000 was composed by Deva and had lyrics by Vairamuthu. Starring actress Jyothika, the visuals of the song was also equally good, capturing the beauty of village in all its vigour.

Chinna chinna mazhathullikal (En swasa katru)

Starring Aravind Swami, this rain song was also composed by A R Rahman.
