As 2024 draws to a close, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' has emerged as the most-watched movie of the year, with an impressive 10.8 lakh solo viewers. This milestone was revealed in BookMyShow’s year-end report, highlighting the film’s massive appeal among audiences.
The much-anticipated sequel to the 2021 pan-India hit Pushpa: The Rise, Pushpa 2: The Rule saw Allu Arjun return to his iconic role as Pushpa Raj, joined by Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. Since its release on December 5, the film has been a box-office success, maintaining strong performance and captivating audiences with its compelling storyline and outstanding performances.
In its annual report, titled #BookMyShowThrowback, BookMyShow shed light on the key cinematic trends that dominated both India and the global entertainment scene in 2024.
The report also detailed some of the year’s most-watched films across multiple languages and genres. Among the top Hindi titles were massive hits like 'Stree 2', 'Singham Again', and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3'. In Telugu cinema, films like 'Kalki 2898 AD', 'HanuMan', and 'Devara' captivated audiences, while Tamil cinema saw tremendous success with 'Amaran' and 'The Greatest of All Time'. Malayalam cinema also made a strong impact, with 'Manjummel Boys' drawing significant viewership.
