Dulquer Salmaan is a star who has quickly captured the attention of audiences in Indian cinema with his exceptional acting skills. His latest film, Lucky Baskhar, is a Telugu release and marks his first project since King of Kotha, which premiered during the Onam festival last year.
In a recent interview, Dulquer opened up about the reasons for his extended break from acting. "I needed a short break. It’s nobody’s fault; some films fell through. I also faced health issues," he explained. He added, "Last year, I was able to do only one film. Perhaps that was my fault; I didn’t pay enough attention to my health."

Having been in the film industry for thirteen years, Dulquer has completed 43 films to date, as he mentioned in the interview. He also spoke about his break and health concerns during this discussion. The interview included a mention of Mammootty as well. When Dulquer noted that he has done 42–43 films, the host pointed out that Mammootty has completed over 400 films, suggesting that Dulquer still has a long journey ahead.

Dulquer expressed his passion for cinema and the characters he portrays. He shared that he often says, “Ah... I got it,” when he suddenly understands a character, noting that his response would be, "It’s only now that I have clarity about that character," particularly when referencing Mammootty.

This insight came during the promotional event for Lucky Baskhar. Meenakshi Chaudhary, who plays Dulquer’s leading lady in the film, also participated in the interview. She remarked that Dulquer is someone who listens patiently to what others have to say. The presenter added that Dulquer's wife is quite fortunate to have him, which brought a smile to his face.
