The audio launch event of Vijay's upcoming movie Bigil was held on Thursday at an engineering college in Chennai. The ocassion was graced by the cast and crew including actor Vijay.
Though all the team members shared their experiences in making the film, Vijay's speech won many hearts at the event.
Vijay talked about socio-political situation in Tamil Nadu, advice for fans and even defended his fans. He also spoke about the death of young woman Subasri, who died after a banner fell on her. The actor had issued a statement asking fans not to put up any banners or hoardings at the event, in the wake of the tragic incident.
He then made a pholisophical statement saying, “Life is like football. Even as you try to win the game with goals, there will be people who will try to stop you from getting the goals. There may people on your side who will score their own goals. In order to gain victory, you must overcome all that. Work to create your own space and identity. Choose what you like and leave what you do not.”
The movie is based on the sports football and Vijay also pointed never to bring politics into sports.
The 45-year old also addressed the fan fight between him and Ajith fans. “Online fan wars are fine as long as they are fun and don't cross a limit. But if they hurt others, it must be avoided,” he said. He even recalled how MGR shouted at his own minister for speaking bad about his rival M Karunanidhi.
He then also talked about the efforts his fans take to put out posters and cut-outs for him. “My fans take lot of effort in supporting and when their efforts are destroyed, they will naturally get angry. During such instances, my request is not to manhandle or assault them. You may tear up my photos or banners, but please do not rough up my fans,” he stated.
He also applauded Bigil director Atlee and mastero AR Rahman who has composed music for the flick. Though Nayanthara was expected to join the function, she wasn't seen.
The film is slated to hit screens on Deepavali.
