Filmmaker Major Ravi has wowed the Malayali audience as an actor who plays small yet significant roles in many super-hit movies. He has made those characters unique by his natural acting style. Now, the veteran director is all set to thrill the audience by essaying a prominent character in the movie 'Pappu' directed by Jayaram Kailas. This would be the first time that Major Ravi would be playing a character throughout a movie. The makers hope that the character named Constable Ratheesh Kumar would unravel the true potential of the actor in Ravi.

Major Ravi will be playing Gokul Suresh's father in the movie. Gokul, actor Suresh Gopi's son, essays the title character of Pappu.

R Padmakumar aka Pappu is the elder son of constable Ratheesh Kumar who is stationed at the Janamaithri police station in Ambalamukku. Pappu, who has a childhood sweet heart, is a happy go lucky guy who takes life quite easily. The movie explores his unique love story and beautifully features the simple life of a village.

Major Ravi's character is shown as going through an emotional struggle as his son has a lethargic attitude to life. Director Jayaram Kailas says that Major Ravi has excelled, especially in the emotionally charged scenes. He assures that the character Pappu too would be loved by the audience for his charm.

Newcomer Ishani Rani plays the female lead opposite Gokul Suresh. Actors like Ganapathy, Shaheen Sidhique and Mareena Michael too play pivotal roles in 'Pappu'. The post production works of the movie are progressing.

'Pappu' is bankrolled by Jayalal Menon for the banner of Backwater Studios. The screenplay is by Umesh Krishnan. Abdul Raheem has cranked the camera for the movie. Ranjan Abraham is the editor. Arul Dev is the music composer while the lyrics are penned by Rafeeq Ahmed, PT Binu and Jayasree Kishore.
