South Indian actor Ashish Vidyarthi, known for his memorable roles in Malayalam movies, including 'CID Moosa,' 'Chess,' and recently 'Aavesham,' was in Kochi on Saturday to perform a Stand Up Comedy, 'Sit Down Ashish'. The veteran who has acted in over 350 films in 11 languages so far made his debut in stand up comedy two months ago. Ashish hopes to tickle funny bones with his performances, touching upon various subjects under the sun.
Ashish also revealed that the show is part of his tour 'Raining Smiles', a unique journey to chase the Indian monsoon from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. “When I was a kid, I heard about people who would capture the advent of monsoon in Kanyakumari. Not only will I catch the monsoon hitting India, I will also chase it. My wife and I, we will travel the east and west of the country with the monsoon. This is going to be special. The whole day we will move around in small towns and cities. Each evening, we will surprise people at some places, either at eateries, or homes or streets. I will perform there. I have worked in over 350 films so far. The idea now is to surprise my audience by performing right in front of them,” he told Onmanorama.

'Sit Down Ashish' was held at Spotlight Socials, Padma Junction, Kochi, on June 8. The actor also spoke about his willingness to do more roles in Malayalam. “CID Moosa was my first film in Malayalam. I am elated to be part of a film, which is enjoying superlative success,” he said.
