Kozhikode: Kerala Students Union (KSU) state president Abhijith KM on Friday said at a press conference here that he rejected the mass resignation of the Kozhikode panel. KSU Kozhikode president VT Nihal on Thursday said that the panel was resigning over the offering of the Rajya Sabha seat to Kerala Congress (M).
Abhijith said that the matter was considered seriously and after consultation with the senior leaders, it was decided that the resignation need not be accepted and instead, the young leaders have to be convinced about the political circumstances and keep them together for strengthening Congress in the district.
Party chairman K M Mani had announced the decision to the media after a meeting of the party parliamentary board here on Friday. The decision was taken a day after the Congress decided to leave a vacant Rajya Sabha seat to the KC(M), in a move that stirred a hornet's nest in the Congress party.
