Kochi: In celebration of International Letter Writing Day, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), Kalamassery, hosted a multilingual letter writing competition on September 2. Organized by the Department of Languages, the event aimed to revive the art of letter writing in an era dominated by digital communication.

With the theme "Gratitude Letter to a Teacher for Inspiring Your Personal Growth," the competition encouraged students to reflect on the profound influence of teachers in shaping their lives. Participants could choose to write in English, Malayalam, Hindi, or French, allowing them to express their thoughts in a language they were comfortable with. The event not only honoured the role of teachers but also highlighted the emotional and personal touch that handwritten letters offer.

The competition promoted writing skills, creativity, and a love for language and culture. It also gave students an opportunity to express their deepest thoughts and feelings, celebrating the beauty of personal communication in a fast-paced digital world. Students from various departments participated enthusiastically, showcasing their linguistic talents through heartfelt letters.

Hindi:

  • Second prize: Keerthana Deepak (First Year BSc Psychology)

French:

  • First prize: Beniella Irakiza (BSc Psychology)
  • Second prize: Fadiya Al Sabah (BSc Psychology) & Nimisha Renjith (BCom Computer Application)
