Kottayam: Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam, conducted an awareness programme ahead of the National Space Day that falls on August 23.
The theme of the event held on Thursday (August 8) was 'Touching Lives While Touching the Moon: India's Space Saga'. It was held under the guidance of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Dr Sudha T, Principal inaugurated the programme.
The day-long event featured various competitions and activities highlighting India's space missions, including student paintings, science fiction short stories, astro-photographs, rocket model making, quiz competitions, and seminar competitions. The highlight was a spirited National Space Day awareness rally, with students and faculty promoting space exploration. The Saintgits Astronomy Club coordinated the events. Cash awards and certificates were distributed to the winners of the competitions.
