Manorama School of Communication, Kottayam, has invited applications for the 10-month-long Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism. Applications could be submitted until June 10.
Expert training would be provided to acquire sophisticated knowledge and skills in print, digital and broadcasting journalism. The candidates could select the course in either English or Malayalam.
Besides classroom sessions, field trips and interactions with famous personalities, training would be provided in language skills, reporting, editing, speed writing, lab papers, news bulletins, computer skills, anchoring, videography, and digital journalism.
Practical experience in creating newspapers, documentaries and studio-based programs would be provided as part of the syllabus. The institute has a history of high placement records.
How to apply
An application fee of Rs 750 should be paid online; besides, there would be additional processing charges. Those who apply offline should download the application from the website.

Those who have a degree in any subject or final-year students who are awaiting the results can apply.
The applicants should have excellent academic history, interest in current affairs, good writing skills and an aptitude for journalism.
The total course fee would be Rs 1,25,000; there would be additional service charges.
Selection
The online entrance test is scheduled on June 24. The exams would be held in both English and Malayalam. The language skills and general knowledge of the candidates would be assessed.
Selected candidates will be called for interview by second week of July. The result would be announced by the third week of July and the classes are expected to begin in August.
