The notification for the Combined Graduate Level Exam 2023, conducted by the Staff Selection Commission, for filling nearly 7500 vacancies in various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in its subordinate offices is out.

Interested candidates, who have a degree in any discipline, can apply online through the website https://ssc.nic.in till 11 pm on May 3. The application fee of Rs 100 can be remitted till 11 pm on May 4. (in case of payment via bank challan, last date is May 5). Besides those belonging to Scheduled Caste/Tribe, Differently Abled, and Ex-servicemen categories, women candidates have also been exempted from paying the application fee.

Different sets of age limits—18 to 27; 20 to 30; 18 to 30; and 18 to 32 — are applicable for different posts. There is age relaxation for reservation categories. The educational qualifications required too vary as per the posts. More details can be obtained from the notification given on the website.

A candidate can give three centers in a region as options on a priority basis.

Two Tier online examinations

The Tier-1 examination, which is expected to be conducted in July, will have 100 multiple-choice objective questions. Total 200 marks- 25 questions each from General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension sections. Half a mark will be penalized for every wrong answer.

Those who get qualify the first stage can appear in the Tier-2 examinations. Tier-2 has in total three papers, and all should appear for Paper-1, which has two sections. During the first section, extending two hours and 15 minutes, the students will be put to test on their knowledge in Mathematics, Reasoning & General Intelligence, English, General Awareness, and Computer. A 15-minute long data entry speed test will be held in the second session.

Paper-2 is for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. Paper-3 is for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
