Kottayam: Vinod and his family are thrilled that the festival of Onam came to their house a bit earlier. It was his son Vishwanath who brought the joy of Onam by grabbing the all Kerala first rank in the Kerala Engineering Entrance.
Vishwanath completed his plus two at Mannanam KE Higher Secondary School in the science stream. He made his school proud by scoring 950 marks out of 960 in the plus two exam. Interestingly, this is not the first time the family is celebrating the joy of incredible academic feats. In the Joint Entrance Exam Main in 2019, Viswanath’s elder brother Vishnu had become the topper in Kerala. Vishwanath says that Vishnu is his role model in studies. Vishnu, meanwhile, is a third year BTech computer science student at the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras.
Vishwanath, however, is not ready to ask doubts to his brother. He likes to clarify his doubts and find solutions on his own. He begins studying at 4.30 am every day. His teachers at Pala Brilliants and his school had been incredibly supportive. Vinod Kumar who is a farmer in Anakkara, Idukki moved to Chemmanampady in Kottayam with his family, five years ago, to provide the best educational opportunities for his children. Vishwanath, who had been studying in Mannanam KE School passed plus two in the Indian School Certificate syllabus with 99.6%. He is currently expecting a good rank in the JEE Advanced whose results would be published on 11 September. Like his elder brother, Vishwanath too wishes to pursue his higher education in engineering at Madras IIT.
