Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government has decided to extend the timeline for the admission process in the engineering colleges in the State till November 25.

It also directed the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations to prepare the ground for the third allotment and complete counselling for admission to engineering colleges.

The first allotment for admission to the Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) and the National Institute of Technologies (NITs) will be held on October 27. The Kerala Government extended the admission process in view of the fact that many seats would be vacant in the engineering colleges in the State after admission to IITs and NITs. 

The Kerala Government has approached the Supreme Court of India seeking more time (another month) to complete the B.Tech admission process.

The time given by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to the State Governments for completing the admission process in engineering colleges will expire on Monday (Oct 25).
