School reopening: Arrangements to be completed by October 27

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government is going ahead with its plans to reopen schools from November 1. General Education Minister V Sivankutty said on Sunday that schools have been asked to complete the arrangements by October 27.

The heads of institutions have also been urged to hold special meetings with parents to communicate the preparedness for reopening. A report regarding the same must be submitted before the district administration through the respective AEO/DEO.

Representatives of local bodies should also be involved in the meetings that should chalk out plans for restarting the mid day meals initiative.

A helpline must be set up at all schools and those concerned must maintain contact with the local police station, said minister Sivankutty.

The state government will publish an academic guidelines for schools in two days.
