Thiruvananthapuram: The rank list of the Kerala Government's engineering and pharmacy entrance exam, KEAM-2021, will be published by this month end. The scanning of answer sheets is currently going on. Once this is completed, the scores would be known.
The engineering rank list for admissions to colleges will be prepared while giving equal weightage to the marks of the entrance exam and the higher secondary or Plus-Two exam.
The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) would direct to submit the higher secondary marks by next week.
Last month the Kerala Government had decided to continue considering the higher secondary marks while preparing this year’s engineering rank list too.
Earlier, the CEE had recommended the government not to consider the Plus-Two marks as the CBSE and ICSE board exams weren’t held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Government decided to persist with the established practice after the ICSE and CBSE announced the results. In previous years, the aggregate of the higher secondary marks and the marks scored for the entrance exam were considered to prepare the rank list.
As a petition was filed against considering the higher secondary marks for preparing the rank list, the Kerala High Court has directed that the results should not be published without prior permission.
The B Tech admission will begin as soon as the engineering rank list is out. Thus the former admission process will be over before that for medical colleges.
The CEE conducted the KEAM-2021 on August 5 in two shifts by adhering to the COVID-19 protocols.
