Thiruvananthapuram: The results of the preliminary examination of the Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) were declared on Wednesday.
The list of candidates who were shortlisted from stream 1 and 2 were announced. While 2,160 candidates qualified in Stream 1 or open merit, 1,048 qualified from Stream 2.

The list of stream 3 was not published along with the other two due to a case filed by the higher secondary senior teachers.
A total of 3.14 lakh candidates had written the preliminary examination of KAS.
The main exam for the shortlisted candidates will be held on November 20 and 21.

Those, who clear the main exam, will be called for the interview round, after which the rank list would be published. The rank list has a validity of one year.
The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms has identified 100 vacancies. Of this, 90 vacancies will be reported to the PSC. Thirty people from each of the three streams would be appointed in the first batch. The rest would be allocated for the next batch.
