Shillong: Music lovers had a whale of a time at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender Music Festival that was held in the Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, last week. It had an incredible line-up featuring folk music project 'My Country My Music' by Shankar Mahadevan, Ud Gaye of DJ Ritviz, Finnish Alt Rock band Poets of The Fall, American Alternative Rock band Switchfoot, Indian rock/electronic band Pentagram, and more.
Finnish rock band Poets of The Fall, who are currently on tour promoting their eighth studio album Ultraviolet, performed for the first time in the Northeast leaving the crowd wanting for more along with English virtuoso guitarist Guthrie Govan.
"There was every kind of music for everyone and it just felt awesome," said an ecstatic 21-year-old sporting a Switchfoot t-shirt marking the fourth edition of the Music Festival which drew crowds from the entire Northeast.
The two-day event was held at Wenfield in Jaintia Hill from November 2 to 3.
"There was a lot happening at the same time," said Rohit, an avid music lover from Assam who was seen running from one stage to the next in order to get the whole 'Bacardi Music Experience.'
Popular Indian singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan was a huge crowd favourite. The crowd was yelling for an encore as his three-hour session ended.
With its incredible turnout, the most successful so far, the Bacardi NH7 Weekender Music Festival's Meghalaya edition is not going anywhere and is here to stay.
