Thiruvananthapuram: Sanju Samson smashed a brilliant 175 and helped Kerala set Saurashtra a victory target of 405 runs in their Ranji Trophy Group B match at the St Xavier's College Ground, Thumba, near here on Sunday. The visitors were 30/1 at stumps on the third and penultimate day.
Sanju, who scored his third successive century in as many games, lit up the day with a strokeful knock. His 180-ball innings contained 16 fours and eight sixes.
The right-hander added 214 runs for fourth wicket along with K B Arun Karthick 81. The hosts, who conceded a slender first innings lead of 7 runs, declared their innings at 411/6.
Sanju had scored a hundred against Jammu and Kashmir in their last Ranji match and followed it up with a ton against the visiting Sri Lankans while captaining the Indian Board President's XI. The youngster had made a fine 68 in the Kerala first innings here as well.
Left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja claimed 4/153 to return match figure of 10/265.
