New Delhi: A clasp on the wrist, a clutch on the neck, a jerk, a turn and the opponent is down on the mat. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is on a roll these days.
Barely three days after he posted a hilarious video of his doggie, 'Pidi', to hit back at his critics who questioned the sudden surge in his Twitter popularity, RG has yet again become a trending topic on social media.
This time, social media platforms are having a heyday after photos of the Congress scion practicing Aikido, a martial art form, surfaced online. The pictures posted on Twitter show RG with Sensei Paritos Kar during one of the Aikido sessions. Dressed in the Aikido attire, RG is seen striking quite a number of 'killer' poses.
Earlier, during an event with boxer Vijender Singh, Rahul had revealed that he was a black belt in Aikido, a form of Japanese martial art involving traditional weapons. Described as a way of unifying life energy, Aikido is used to defend oneself. Interestingly, it also protects the attacker from suffering any injury.
The photos prove that he was not bluffing and that the Congress leader not only knew how to train guns at the opposition but also throw in a punch or two, if need be.
And needless to say, Twitter was flooded with a deluge of reactions – some praising the leader and others ridiculing the photos.
