Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday expressed displeasure over the delay in concluding the probe into the actress attack case in which actor Dileep has been arrested.

The court asked the police why the probe was going on like an endless film script.

“Is it meant to satisfy someone,” the court asked.

Justice P. Ubaid criticized the police for prolonging the investigation into the case, which is more than six months old.

The court made the observations while considering the anticipatory bail application moved by film director Nadirshah, a close friend of popular Malayalam actor Dileep, who was arrested in connection with the case.

The court wanted to know if the police were repeatedly quizzing some accused. The court made the observations while considering the anticipatory bail plea filed by Dileep's friend and filmmaker Nadhirshah.

The court directed Nadirshah to appear before the team probing the case on Friday and to cooperate with the investigation.

If he does not cooperate with the probe, then police can file a report, the court said.It also asked the police to restrain from taking any further action against the filmmaker.

The prosecution said the police had not received any evidence to make Nadhirshah an accused in the case.

Meanwhile, the HC postponed the hearing of Nadhirsha's anticipatory bail plea to September 18.

A close friend of actor Dileep, who has been remanded for allegedly plotting the February 17 attack, Nadhirshah was earlier questioned in detail as part of the probe. The police want to question him again after Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the case, deposed before them that he had received Rs 25,000 from the director ahead of the attack

Nadhirshah, in his bail application, argued that he had no role in the crime and that had made it clear in the earlier interrogation session. However, the prosecution is likely to argue that he should be quizzed again immediately in the wake of the latest revelations by Suni.

Suni told the police that he received the money from Nadhirshah during the shoot of his film Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan at Thodupuzha.

The police had issued a notice to Nadhirshah, asking him to be present for questioning on September 6. However, soon after this he got admitted to a hospital and filed the bail plea.

Nadhirshah has also alleged that he was threatened by the police to give a statement validating Suni's claims against Dileep.
