Kochi: A civil police officer attached to the AR Camp, Kalamassery, A.R. Aneesh, who allegedly helped prime accused Pulsar Suni, has been suspended from duty. He is currently out on bail after being arrested in connection with the case.
He was earlier recommended for a departmental inquiry following findings that pointed towards his active connivance in aiding Suni's efforts towards establishing communication with arrested actor Dileep and his close circles.
The police had earlier found that Aneesh, who stood guard at Suni's cell when he was lodged at the Kakkanad jail, had helped the accused contact director Nadhirshah over the phone.
The police have also found that Aneesh had attempted to help Suni send voice messages to Dileep. He had also contacted the Kakkanad-based boutique owned by actress Kavya Madhavan, Dileep's wife, several times over.
Aneesh, was also the person in whom Suni confessed to the involvement of Dileep, after which he helped the accused contact latter.
Aneesh, charged as the 14th accused in the case, was arrested on Saturday and subsequently released on bail.
The young actress was waylaid and attacked in a moving car in Kochi on February 17. Pulsar Suni, who has worked as a driver for many film personalities, was arrested a week after the incident.
