Priya Anand had impressed the Malayali audience in the Prithviraj-starrer horror thriller Ezra. Ezra fame Priya Anand has reportedly rejected three movies to play the female lead opposite youth star Nivin Pauly in Roshan Andrews’ magnum opus Kayamkulam Kochunni.
The petite actress says that she had given up three projects as she was always interested to act in a period movie. Besides, the chance to play Nivin’s heroine too, had attracted her to choose Kayamkulam Kochunni over other movies.
Earlier, South Indian beauty Amala Paul was cast as Nivin’s pair in the movie, but she had to exit the project as dates of some of her previously committed Tamil flicks clashed with that of Kayamkulam Kochunni.

Kayamkulam Kochunni, produced by Sree Gokulam Movies, is made on a mega budget. The screenplay is penned by the successful screen-writer brothers, Bobby and Sanjay. The movie will be extensively shot in Sri Lanka and Kayamkulam.
