Karnataka bandh | PTI Photo1. Most parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, came to a standstill on Friday due to a day-long bandh called by pro-Kannada outfits to protest against the SC order to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
2. Transport services have been hit hard and thousands of passengers were stranded at Bengaluru due to the non-availability of taxis and buses.
3. Most of the IT firms including Infosys, Wipro and about 400 multinational companies, have taken a day-off.
4. Educational institutions, petrol bunks, hotels, malls and other establishments remained shut.

5. Security at the state's border with Tamil Nadu has been increased and at least 25,000 police and security personnel are patrolling the streets of Bengaluru.
