1. Most parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, came to a standstill on Friday due to a day-long bandh called by pro-Kannada outfits to protest against the SC order to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

2. Transport services have been hit hard and thousands of passengers were stranded at Bengaluru due to the non-availability of taxis and buses.

3. Most of the IT firms including Infosys, Wipro and about 400 multinational companies, have taken a day-off.

4. Educational institutions, petrol bunks, hotels, malls and other establishments remained shut.
