Alappuzha: Voicing their disappointment over the delay in solving the mystery behind Kalabhavan Mani's death, the family of the late Malayalam actor has approached Kerala Opposition leader V.S. Achuthanandan.
The family Monday night gave a written complaint to VS. The family approached the veteran CPM leader after police hinted that Mani's could be a natural death. The family members of Mani requested VS to ensure that there is clarity in the reasons that led to his death.
Kalabhavan Mani was admitted to hospital on March 5 after he vomited blood and breathed his last on March 6.

Earlier this week, the doctors who conducted a post-mortem on Kalabhavan Mani had confirmed that the Malayalam actor’s death was caused by an insecticide and the methanol content in alcohol.
Initially, the police had suspected foul play in the actor's demise but were unable to find evidence to support either suicide or murder bids.

The police are awaiting a report from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad, where Mani’s viscera and blood samples were sent for a re-examination. It will take at least three more weeks to get the report, which is expected to shed light on the cause of Mani’s death.
Police will give their final word on the case only after getting this report.
