Kasaragod: Eleven people from two Kasaragod families, including children, who went missing from Dubai, are in Yemen and are studying religion there, their relatives and friends have confirmed.
A friend has received an audio message from Sabad of Megral, one of those who are in Yemen with his two wives and three children. He claims they are in Yemen for studies on religion. The police conclusion was that prima facie they had no connection with any terrorist organisation. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has but sought details from the state police. District police chief A Sreenivas said NIA superintendent Rahul had contacted them after seeing newspaper reports.
The Kasaragod Town police and the police intelligence wing were investigating the case, based on the complaints lodged by the father of Nasira, Sabad's first wife. The history of the missing persons are under scanner.

Nasira, 25, from Mundamkulam, husband M P Sabad, 32, their children Musab, 5, Marjana, 3, and Muqabil, 1, Sabad's second wife Raihanath, 23, from Palakkad, Ansar from Kollampady, his wife Zeenath and their three children are the 11 people reported missing as per a complaint filed by Nasira's father A A Abdul Hameed.
Sabad's message says they are all safe at a madrassa run by Sheikh Abdul Bilal in between Hami and Dees in Yemen's Halarmoth. The police are trying to ascertain the veracity of the message.
His father M P Ashraf says Sabad had called home after reaching Yemen and had informed about the plan for religious studies there.
