Kochi: Malayalam actor Dileep, accused in the 2017 actress assault case in Kochi, has withdrawn a plea seeking relief in the bail conditions.
The actor had reportedly sought the court's permission to go abroad for shooting. However, as the shooting had to be cancelled due to rain, the actor withdrew his plea.
This was Dilep's second plea for relief. Earlier, Dileep had approached the court to go to Dubai for the inauguration of 'Dhe Puttu,' a restaurant chain owned by him. After the court granted him permission, Dileep and his mother had visited the Gulf country in November 2017.
Dileep was arrested on July 10 for plotting the sensational crime. The Kerala HC granted him bail on October 3, but imposed stringent conditions and said he should not tamper with evidence.
Dileep was asked to surrender his passport and make a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh.
The police have claimed that a conspiracy to abduct and assault the actress in a moving car and film the act was hatched by Dileep.
The actress, who has also worked in Tamil and Telugu films, was abducted and assaulted inside a moving car in Kochi on February 17 night.
