Rizabawa is famed for his memorable role as John Honay in Siddique-Lal movie 'In Harihar Nagar'.Kochi: A court here has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Malayalam actor Rizabawa, 52, in a cheating case.
Ernakulam Magistrate Court issued the warrant based on a petition filed by Elamakkara-native C M Sadique. Rizabawa is accused of cheating Sadique after borrowing Rs 11 lakh from him in 2014.
According to the complaint, Rizabawa borrowed the money after the marriage between Sadique's son and Raizabawa's daughter was fixed. The actor is said to have sought more time to repay the amount on several occasions. Though he issued a cheque to Sadique in january 2015 it bounced when the latter tried to clear it after 71 days.
The arrest warrant was issued after the actor failed to appear before the court several times. The court had scheduled to pronounce verdict in the case on March 28 and Rizabawa was asked to be present in the court that day. However, he did not turn up citing health issues.
Sadique's counsel said that the verdict in the case is likely to be pronounced on June 21.
Rizabawa, who has acted in over 100 films, is famed for his memorable role as John Honay in Siddique-Lal movie 'In Harihar Nagar'. Kabuliwala, Nerariyan CBI, Cover Story, Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava are some of his other notable films.
