Two Hyderabad-based parties have filed a fresh application in the Supreme Court objecting to the wink scene from the 'Manikya Malaraya Poove' song from the upcoming Malayalam movie, Oru Adaar Love, directed by Omar Lulu.
The application refers to the verses in the Holy Quran Shareef and wants the court to hear the petitioners before pronouncing its verdict on actor Priya Prakash Varrier’s petition seeking to quash criminal charges against her for the controversial wink.

In February, the Supreme Court had stayed all the pending first information reports (FIRs) filed against the song and the movie.
The stay was granted in response to a petition filed by the director, producer and the actor.
The applicants, one of whom had filed a complaint even earlier, contented in his petition that winking was banned in Islam and amounted to blasphemy.
The song in question features a stylized version of a 'mappilla paattu' (traditional muslim song genre), written by PMA Jabbar in 1978, to describe the qualities of Prophet Muhammad’s first wife Beevi Khadeeja.
The wink scene had catapulted Priya to national stardom overnight with the scene becoming an internet sensation.
