Malappuram: A 22-year-old girl was stabbed to death by her father at Areekode here, on the eve of her wedding. The incident took place on Thursday evening.
Wedding of Athira, a native of Poovathikandi in Malappuram, with her boyfriend was scheduled on Friday. Athira and her boyfriend had decided to enter wedlock without the permission from their parents.
According to reports, the girl was killed following a verbal spat between the father and daughter.
The police have arrested Athira's father Rajan following the incident.
