The plastic cord got wrapped around Shiju, inflicting injuries to his neck and arm. Adimali: A 38-year-old bus passenger had a miraculous escape after he accidentally got entangled in a rope tossed over a stationary truck at Thokkupara near here on Friday.
The victim, K P Shiju of Kolarikkal, Kallarkutty, was admitted to the Taluk Hospital with minor injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, Shiju was sitting by the window seat of the moving bus when the accident occurred. Later it was revealed that the rope accidentally landed inside the bus after it was thrown over a lorry for tying the luggage on the top of the vehicle. Those who were engaged in the loading work did not see the bus coming as they were on the opposite side.

Though he managed to untie the rope binding his neck from the moving bus, the knot around his arm tightened up. On noticing the incident, the other commuters shouted out to stop the bus.
He suffered bruises behind his right ear and arm as the rope came tight before it was removed.
The private bus was proceeding to Adimali from Munnar.
