Kochi: The Angamaly court has stopped further proceedings into popular Malayalam actor Dileep's complaint that details of the February 17 actress assault charge sheet were leaked.

Though the court observed that the issue of charge sheet leak was serious, it did not press for further investigation. It reprimanded the investigation official circle inspector Biju Paulose.

Dileep, the eighth accused in the case, had moved the court in November last year accusing the cops of leaking the charge sheet to the media.

The police submitted the subsidiary charge sheet on November 22, listing his former wife Manju Warrier and wife Kavya Madhavan as witnesses.

The probe team submitted five copies of the charge sheet in court.

According to the charge sheet, Dileep wanted to take revenge on the actress after his marriage with Manju Warrier ended in a divorce. He presumed that the victim had a role in the marital discord and he plotted the attack on the actress, the charge sheet said.

The subsidiary charge sheet has named 14 accused, including Dileep, 385 witnesses and 33 confidential statements. Only Dileep and prime accused Pulsar Suni are accused of conspiracy in the charge sheet.

The Special Investigation Team had alleged that Dileep had hired goons to abduct and assault the actress and videotape the crime. A copy of the images captured by Pulsar Suni was also presented in the court. The police are yet to locate the original images and the mobile phone used to shoot the crime.

Dileep, who was arrested on July 10, was granted bail on October 3. The actress, who has also worked in Tamil and Telugu films, was abducted and allegedly molested inside her car for two hours on February 17 night.
